Companies which provide information have taken measures in order to prevent the spread of false information, meaning that facts are promoted to the public (i.e Facebook work with over 60 fact-checking organizations that review content in more than 50 languages.)

Pros

Cons

  • Pro claim 1

Fact-checking has aided in the challenge of stifling fiction from being spread through the media yet I believe that checking multiple credible sources (such as WHO) is also necessary.

  • Pro claim 2

Although it can be very difficult to be checking the reliability of the information, but Facebook is allowing companies like the WHO to help filtering out the misinformation theconversation.com

  • Con claim 1

These fact checking systems are notoriously unreliable. Although they can correctly identify some misleading information, it is not consistently running and isn't always very effective

  • Con claim 2

As companies are providing the information, they can skew the information in their favor. As this pandemic is greatly affecting the economy, a company may want to make it seem as though the control is getting better in order to start boosting the economy again.
