    The Athenian ekklesia was an assembly of all Athenian citizens, which met roughly every 10 days, and made decisions about foreign policy, laws, and the conduct of public officials.

    The Athenian Boule was a group of 500 men (50 from each of Athens' 10 tribes), who were chosen by lot to serve for one year. It set the agenda for the ekklesia, looked after day-to-day governing, and controlled the city's finances.
